Distractions are productivity killers. Every pop-up, email, or message can break your flow. Windows solves this with Focus Assist, a built-in feature designed to help you concentrate without interruptions.

To enable it, go to Settings → System → Focus Assist. You can choose from three modes:

  • Off: You’ll see all notifications.
  • Priority only: Only notifications from selected apps and people appear.
  • Alarms only: Silences everything except alarms.

You can even set automatic rules, like activating Focus Assist during work hours or while duplicating your display (useful during presentations).

When Focus Assist turns off, you’ll get a summary of what you missed, so nothing is lost — just delayed.

For those working from home or managing multiple apps, this simple feature can dramatically improve concentration and output.
