Manually cleaning files can be tedious. That’s why Windows introduced Storage Sense — a smart feature that automatically frees up space by deleting temporary and old files.
You can turn it on by going to Settings → System → Storage, then switch on Storage Sense.
You can customize when it runs — every day, week, month, or only when space is low.
It can automatically delete:
- Temporary files
- Old items in the Recycle Bin
- Unused files in the Downloads folder
If you use OneDrive, it can also remove local copies of cloud files while keeping them online.
Storage Sense works quietly in the background, keeping your PC optimized without manual effort. Think of it as your digital housekeeper — working invisibly to keep your storage fresh.
