A strong and stable Wi-Fi connection is essential for any computer user today — whether for work, entertainment, or staying connected. Windows makes managing Wi-Fi simple, but understanding a few hidden settings can make your connection faster and more secure.

To view available networks, click the Wi-Fi icon on your taskbar. From here, you can:

  • Connect to networks: Select the one you want, enter the password, and tick Connect automatically if it’s your home or trusted network.
  • Forget old networks: Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Wi-Fi → Manage known networks to remove connections you no longer use.
  • Set connection priority: Windows connects to known networks in order. Forget unwanted ones to make sure it prioritizes your preferred Wi-Fi.

For advanced users, under Network & Internet → Advanced network settings, you can find your network adapter details, reset network components, or view your IP configuration.

Pro Tip: If your connection feels unstable, try running the Network Troubleshooter from the same settings page. It can automatically detect and fix common Wi-Fi issues like DNS errors or adapter resets.
