A Recovery Drive is your safety net when Windows refuses to start or crashes unexpectedly. It contains troubleshooting tools and allows you to reinstall Windows if necessary.

To create one:

  1. Type “Create a recovery drive” in the Start menu.
  2. Insert a USB drive (at least 16GB recommended).
  3. Follow the wizard, and make sure you check Back up system files to the recovery drive.

Once it’s ready, label the USB clearly and store it safely. If your PC won’t boot, plug it in, power on your computer, and boot from USB — you’ll access advanced repair tools like System Restore, Startup Repair, or Command Prompt.

This simple 10-minute setup can save you hours of frustration later.
