Sometimes, even after troubleshooting, Windows becomes sluggish or unstable. That’s where the Reset This PC option comes in handy.

It reinstalls Windows from scratch while giving you the choice to keep your personal files or remove everything.

To do this:

  1. Go to Settings → System → Recovery.
  2. Under Reset this PC, click Reset PC.
  3. Choose Keep my files (for a refresh) or Remove everything (for a clean slate).

This process removes apps and resets settings but keeps your documents safe (if you choose the first option).

It’s the perfect solution when your PC feels beyond repair but you don’t want to start completely from zero.

Pro Tip: If you’re selling your computer or giving it away, choose Remove everything → Clean data to securely wipe all information.
